Late complications:

  • Stomal stenosis (20%)
  • Bowel obstruction, small bowel obstruction (1%)
  • Internal hernia
  • Cholelithiasis
  • Micronutrient deficiencies
  • Marginal ulcer
  • Staple line disruption
  • Ventral hernia formation ( more prevalent after open approach)
